Amazing Love That Power Is Given Us To Become The Sons and Daughters Of God

Jews praying in the synagogue on Yom Kippur is a most solemn day of self examination for if they find sins in their life for the past year, the cure is to confess their sins, and be forgiven by God before midnight or the dead will not rise from the graves, when the Shofars sound at midnight.

On Yom Kippur, you see families visiting the graves of their relatives, putting a “rock” upon the grave, as a reminder to God, this soul was loved and is ready for God to unlock the grave when He comes at midnight.

Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

My first thought was, I can blame God . . .for my desire to do His will. . .because I was born into a godly family, following His Spirit, I wish to do good and not evil. But sometimes even sharing the goodness of GOD in Him granting the world, salvation through the baptism of water, and baptism of the Holy Spirit is not something everyone desires, even though it leads to peace of mind, while watching others struggle with His love, joy and peace.

The irony is, Divine sonship is not something that we gain by ourselves. Only to those who receive Christ as their Saviour is GIVEN THE POWER to become sons and daughters of God. The sinner cannot, by any power of his own, rid himself of sin. For the accomplishment of this result, he must look to a HIGHER POWER. John exclaimed, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Christ alone has power to CLEANSE THE HEART. He who is seeking for forgiveness and acceptance can say only,—

“Nothing in my hand I bring; Simply to Thy cross I cling.”

But the PROMISE of sonship is made to all who “believe on his name.”

“The religion of Christ transforms the heart. It makes the worldly minded man heavenly minded. Under its influence the selfish man become unselfish, because this is the character of Christ. The dishonest, scheming man becomes upright, so that it is second nature to him to do to others as he would have others do to him. The profligate is changed from impurity to purity. He forms correct habits; for the gospel of Christ has become to him a savor of LIFE unto LIFE.

“God was to be manifest in Christ, “reconciling the world unto himself.” Man had become so degraded by sin that it was impossible for him, in himself, to come into harmony with Him whose nature is purity and goodness. But Christ, after having redeemed man from the condemnation of the law, could impart divine power, to unite with human effort. Thus by repentance toward God and faith in Christ, the fallen children of Adam might once more become “sons of God.”

“When a soul receives Christ, he receives power to live the life of Christ.”

Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White, p. 12 for January 6

Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more.” Jesus cast out the demons, but Mary went and sinned seven times more. Then she found Jesus loved her enough, to let her have her freedom. . .love, joy, and peace of mind.

Why do the worldly wish to cast stones on the JEWS? Why do they wish to have someone to BLAME for their SINS against JESUS CHRIST THE JEW? He is the ONLY ONE, who can SAVE YOU…not the Pope, not someone else, but the Bible is full of those who followed their CREATOR GOD back to their ORIGINAL HOME IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN, that will one day be RESTORED, as the CENTRAL PARK, in the NEW JERUSALEM where there is a RIVER RUNNING THROUGH IT?

Dying Thief Accepts Christ as His Saviour

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” (Luke 23:42)

A Mother's prayer
A Mother’s prayer

“To the last of His work Christ is a sin-pardoner. At deepest midnight, as the Star of Bethlehem was about to sink into oblivion, lo there shines amid the moral darkness with distinct brightness the faith of a dying sinner as he lays hold upon a dying Saviour.”

“Such faith may be represented by the eleventh hour laborers who receive as much rewards do those who have labored for many hours.  The thief asked in faith, in penitence, in contrition.  He asked in earnestness, as if he fully realized that Jesus could save him if He would.   And the hope in his voice was mingled with anguish as he realized, that he would be lost, eternally lost.  He cast he helpless, dying soul and body on Jesus Christ.”

“He had heard Pilate declare, “I find no fault in him.”   John 19:4 He had marked His godlike bearing, and His pitying forgiveness of His tormentors. . . .Among the passers-by he hears many defending Jesus.   He hears them repeat His words, and tell of his works.   The conviction comes. . . . to him that this is the Christ. . . .When condemned for his crime, the thief had become hopeless and despairing; but a strange, tender thoughts now spring up.   He calls to mind all he has heard of Jesus. . . . He has heard the words of those who believed in Jesus and followed Him weeping. . . . The Holy Spirit illuminates his mind, and little by little the chain of evidence is joined together.   In Jesus, bruised, mocked, and hanging upon the cross, he sees the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world.   Hope is mingled with anguish in his voice as the helpless, dying soul casts himself upon a dying Saviour. . . . Quickly the answer came.   Soft and melodious the tone, full of love, compassion, and power the words:  Verily I say unto thee today, Thou shalt be with me in Paradise. . . . To the penitent thief came the perfect peace of acceptance with God.”  Ellen White Quote

What Mother or Father who loves their son and daughter, would not wish for them to see the love in the eyes of Jesus?
