Jesus Christ Delayed Raising Lazarus It Would Be His Crowning Miracle

“The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.[high rank, office, position, a legal title of nobility or honor] ”            2 Peter 2:9-10)

When Walter posed at the entrance to Lazarus Tomb, and appeared to be coming out of the grave, this Mother's heart again became thankful, that her little boy, not yet two years old, came out of the near-drowing unit at the Oakland Children's Hospital, in response to so many unknown people praying for him, a little boy on the Channel 3 News in California, they did not know! Praise the Lord for He can raise the dead!

“To all who are reaching out to feel the guiding hand of God, the moment of greatest discouragement is the time when divine help is nearest. They will look  back with thankfulness upon the darkest part of their way. “The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations.” From every temptation and every trial He will bring them forth with firmer faith and a richer experience.”

“In delaying to come to Lazarus, Christ had a purpose of mercy toward those who had not received Him.   He tarried, that by raising Lazarus from the dead He might give to His stubborn unbelieving people another evidence that He was indeed “the resurrection, and the life.”  He was loath to give up all hope of the people, the poor, wandering sheep of the house of Israel.   His heart was breaking because of their impenitence [unrepentant, The Jews given the chance, would repeat their proud, greedy, superior behavior and would crucify Jesus Christ again.]   In His mercy He purposed to give them one more evidence that He was the Restorer, the One who alone could bring life and immortality to light.  This was the reason of His delay in going to Bethany.   This crowning miracle, the raising of Lazarus, was to set the seal of God on His work and on His claim to divinity.

“Death could not have aimed his dart at Lazarus in the presence of the Life-giver.”

Comments by Connie, the Mother of Walter:  I prayed eleven years to have a baby, a child. But when my first son, Lil Roger arrived, the gift was a wonderful miracle! When Walter arrived, “the miracle of life,” I was beginning to take for granted. But when his body was on the bottom of the swimming pool, and l looked out the window to see his daddy holding him upside down, to clear his stomach and start CPR, a strange calm came over me. I took over the CPR on Walter, breath, breath, chest massage. Then I looked down at the lifeless body and we prayed, Lil Roger, daddy and I, “Thank you Lord, for this time we have with Walter.  If it be your will please bring him back to us.” I turned to see his little tummy moving, just enough for God to give me assurance he would live. But his heart and breathing would not begin at the Oakdale Hospital. Rushed to Modesto Hospital familiar faces came to bring back his breathing. His little body was grasping for air, as if it had to suck in the most air his lungs could hold. But there was danger of swelling in his brain, so that night an ambulance took Walter to Oakland’s Children’s Hospital on the San Francisco Bay. Walter was the only child that come out of the Near-Drowning ward without brain damage. But his muscles on the left side would need to be strengthen.

I pray this testimony gives parents reason to place their babies, in the arms of Jesus, daily, for our children belong to God.  I pray when disaster strikes, we too have placed ourselves, in the miracle of life, given to us by God. I pray I say, “Thank You Lord, for the time you have given me, to share you love to everyone! And if it be your will, let me live again to Praise Your Name!”

Walter is now 31, finishing Mortuary Science in New York. His voice is still a calming influence on me and reminder “The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations.”

When its a temptation to “doubt” God, when the real temptation comes, to deny His Holy Spirit, we don’t want to be like the Children of Israel, standing by the Jordan, saying, “God cannot get me over to the other side!”  We don’t want to wander around on this earth any more!  His grace is sufficient then and now, to get us to the other side of the river, to the Promised Land!

Step out the grave! Do not doubt Jesus died for you! Jesus can raise you from the grave! Trust in His love and character 100%, because he will only send to where you need to go, to learn how much HE LOVES YOU! What is “life” if can’t use it, to glorify His Name and Character?

Walter lived to visit Israel and Jerusalem he and his brother Roger, can be picked out by red and white stripes. After a day walking in Jerusalem, Walter laid on his bed, with arms behind his head, and said, "I walked today where Jesus walked." I pray each day we walk today with Jesus! To live in His Presence, like Lazarus did. To be alive to see where He wants us to be! Death has no sting to one who lives with Jesus!

Please don’t be jealous! God made this trip possible! As a child I wondered if Jesus was like fairy tale. But my sons, in red and white stripes, knew for sure, they had walked where Jesus walked.  More importantly, living in His Presence is a daily reminder, He loves, He cares, He shares His Word, with those who would read.

Bless all who come in the name of the Lord!

This entrance 30 years ago, led directly to the Western Wall. Due to terrorists, and walking human bombs, this entrance to the Old City Jerusalem is more closely guarded. The third man over from the left is Dr. Horn, the renown Egyptologist who quietly traveled with us, to answer questions. On the floor of an ancient synagogue that was in ruins from an earthquake, were mosaic tiles depicting pictures of the constellations.  The heavens were studied, in  Numbers 24:17 God set a prophecy about His Son.   “I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.”

The Wise Men followed a star made of heavenly angels, to find the Christ Child.

We have seen THE STAR, Jesus acting out his frustration with hypocrites, in the church when he came loving sinners!

We have seen the suffering of the men and woman who defend TRUTH, and nothing but the TRUTH.

Now, We will see Jesus!  We will see Him as He truly is! A King! A Mighty God, worthy of all honor! Worthy for us to humble ourselves and be willing to be His servants, now and when we meet Him in the sky!
