“The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.” Proverbs 10:29
“If from the beginning we had walked in the counsel of God, thousands more would have been converted to the present truth. But many have made crooked paths for their feet. My brethren make straight paths, lest the lame, be turned out of the way. Let no one follow a crooked path that someone else has made, for thus you would not only go astray yourself but would make the crooked path plainer for someone else to follow. Determine that as for yourself, you will walk in the path of obedience. Know for certain that you are standing under the broad shield of Omnipotence. Realize the characteristics of Jehovah must be revealed in your life, and that in you a work must be accomplished that will mold your character after the divine similitude. Yield yourself to the guidance of him who is the Head over all.
“We are doing our work for the judgment. Let us be learners of Jesus. We need His guidance every moment. At every step we should inquire, “Is this the way of the Lord?” not, “Is this the way of the man who is over me?” We are to be concerned only as to whether we are walking in the way of the Lord.
“God will honor and uphold every true-hearted, earnest soul who is seeking to walk before Him in the perfection of Christ’s grace. He will never leave nor forsake one humble, trembling soul. Shall we believe that He will work in our hearts? that if we allow Him to do so, He will make us pure and holy, by His rich grace qualifying us to be laborers together with Him? Can we with keen, sanctified perception appreciate the strength of His promises, and appropriate them, not because we are worthy, but because by living faith we claim the righteousness of Christ?
There is nothing so great and powerful as God’s love for those who are His children.”
Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White for October 31, 2022 p. 192.
God’s grace is justice and mercy.
May the Lord bless you and keep you and may His face always shine upon you and give you peace!
“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:s” Colossians 1:27
“That which brings sickness of body and mind to nearly all is dissatisfied feelings and discontented repinings. They have not God, they have not the hope which reaches to that within the veil, which is as an anchor to the soul both sure and steadfast. All who possess this hope will purify themselves even as He is pure. Such are free from restless longings, repinings, and discontent; they are not continually looking for evil and brooding over borrowed trouble. But we see many who are having a time of trouble beforehand; anxiety is stamped upon every feature; they seem to find no consolation, but have a continual fearful looking for some dreadful evil. . . . Vain amusements will never correct the minds of such. They need the transforming influence of the Spirit of God in order to be happy. They need to be benefited by the mediation of Christ, in order to realize consolation, divine and substantial. “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him . . . hate evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it” I Peter 3:10. Those who have an experimental knowledge of this scripture are truly happy. . . . Christ in them the hope of glory will be health to the body and strength to the soul. (Colossians 1:27)
The soul that is imbued with the love of Jesus . . . loves to contemplate Jesus, and by beholding Him, will become changed into His likeness. Christ is formed within, the hope of glory. His confidence increases . . . and his love deepens and widens, as he has the assurance that he is abiding in Christ, and Christ in him. . . . And we may look to Jesus for His tenderest sympathy and be encouraged to persevere, putting our whole trust in Him who has said, “Be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.”
Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White for October 30,2022, p. 310
The Shepherd was born in Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, He will shepherd His people and all who call upon His Name shall be saved. The HOPE OF THE WORLD, speaks softly, with tears in His eyes.
With human beings smiling as they take credit for the genetic modification of mixing human, blood with bats and hogs one can only reflect on the last seven plagues as man’s inhumanity to man.
When our knees shake and our hearts are crushed with the truth of mankind obeying the “voice” of human destruction and gloom . . . we need to look no farther than the separating of good from evil.
Genesis_2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis_2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis_3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
GENETIC MODIFICATION: Intentional genetic modification by human beings to destroy us with plagues, cannot be blamed on the LORD who warned us.
Helpless one, at the hands of a cruel evil god, gives us a choice. . . between the God of Life or the god of death.
“Death” was the enemy until Jesus came to prove He has the answer, of Life, with the Living Blood found to come alive, when the dried blood of Jesus was put in water. . . however the Jews who tested the blood by taking the living blood, found their sensitivity to seeing “death” was enhanced, to the degree, that when they saw anyone in pain. . . their bodies reacted with the suffering of one seeing a family member struggling. The test subjects pleaded to die, to have their brain examined, but the constant fear of seeing death was something they could not bare.
If you choose to walk away from the pain of others who are suffering, there are some who would prefer to withdraw from the conflict. . . like me. . . when thrown in with those who are newly converted, who do not realize in their zeal to “convert” others, they may be trampling on Holy Ground. . . using “force” instead of pointing to the “source” of contentment, peace, and appreciation of HOW THE GOOD SHEPHERD, guides His sheep with His gentle voice. . . His Word.
Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
Death entered the world, through disobedience. . . . by dealing with the source of sin, the talking snake in the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
For approximately six thousand years of recorded history, we have the example of war against good, and evil. And we come to the last showdown at the OK Corral. . . where good meets evil. . . in the last chance to obey GOD or man. . . which is really a deception of the evil one in man’s clothing. Or worse yet an evil man in sheeps clothing. . . . pretending to be god on earth, the good shepherd, the man of 666, behind the scenes with a plan to destroy, as his name implies in Revelation 9:11 he is the King of the Destroyers.
How will you be prepared to die? Defending God or the man in Rome swinging the cross on a chain around his neck. . . . parading the march towards the cliff. . . like lemmings falling into the sea. Or sheep headed to the slaughter following the Judas Goat into the slaughterhouse, when the goat ducks into one shoot, while the sheep and cattle continue their march down another shoot.
This tendency to follow the leader. . . . gives us a choice to follow in the quiet steps towards Jerusalem. . . . the capital of a land. . . that tries to not make collateral damage when they fight for their freedom of speech and religion. The Capital of Religion begins with the God who created the 7-day week, for the last day of the week, to be a repose, a rest, a day to celebrate the greatness of wonder, awe, and respect at SUNDOWN for the Universe behind the stars, plants, and wonder of it all, the Kingdom of God, and His Universe, beyond our ability to even think in the numbers of billions of years before our earth was created.
We have only to look towards the EASTERN SKY, the direction of THE SUN, to see the determined Kings of the Kingdom of God. . . . approaching again. . . earth. The Government of God has come under attack and again, that evening on the sixth day of creation, to watch the first evening star appear. . . to set the “work” of mental, physical, social, and spiritual retreat into the contest of a larger picture of a God who wants us to walk with Him in His Kingdom in Heaven.
As I prepare this page on October 30, 2022, each day preparing a tiny slice of hope and comfort from the Bible as the source, the messages written in the little book, Sons and Daughters of God, have given me inspiration. But the subtle influence of this little book, pointing me back to the Bible, has also been linked to my own struggles with watching people move toward or away from words that relax my muscles, and calm my brain and its charm brings me back daily wanting more. . . of this kind of contentment I shared when coming to Grandma’s Farm here in Nebraska.
Moving away from the agrarian life, the farm, its daily challenges of men versus machines, and daily confrontation with its scheduled needs. Farmers have to plan when to harvest when to plant, how to weed, and what kind of weed killer to use. Daily they think and rethink an easier way to work, and also help our neighbors. . . because when something breaks down, you need to know your neighbor is there to help you as you help them when the going gets rough the tough get going!
If everyone had to depend upon their neighbor, to help them when they need help, it is because one day we will all need help! And that day is coming, when we will need to rely on God only, as our source of help in time of need.
The rest and peace of dwelling on His Mystery and Plan to save us from the curse of “sin” bring us to the END OF THE BOOK, called The Revelation of Jesus Christ. In the last few pages of the Bible, God constrains HIMSELF, no longer. He must end evil. He must permit people the FREEDOM to love or hate what He HAS PURCHASED FOR US, by HIS BLOOD. . . His one sacrifice, of living GOD, to come to Earth, and He must die, for this GOD has living blood, that cannot die. When placed in water, the dried blood of Jesus comes alive with 24 chromosomes. Jesus would now be 2022 years old. . .but before He came as King, he came as a child, to the parents of humans who could not understand Him causing the Jews to try and realize He is the Peace Child.
Therefore: It is my opinion and mine only, that my best place is to be as content, as full of His Holy Spirit as I can be, to TRUST HIS METHOD, of being humbled to the point of death, like the martyrs before me. . . even Jesus Himself, submitted to the punishment that purchased my pardon.
I will know soon, if I have been chosen to face the final curtain of my life, to die defending His Government, His Laws, and His Kingdom that welcomes sinners, to be saved from the evil around us, by calling on HIS NAME….. Jesus.
Mother taught us, “Where the name of Jesus is, the devil cannot be.” And I’ve seen demons leave, when faced with the name of JESUS. Mother and her friend were in Greenwood, Colorado during WWII. They stepped into a hotel lobby where there was a game inviting the devil to move the pointer. . . for answers. When Mom stepped in the Quija Board would not work. When Mom stepped out of the room, the game continued.
When your heart is ready to let Jesus come in, the song comes to mind. “You cannot have rest or be perfectly blessed, until all on the altar is slain.” I lay my “all” on the altar of sacrifice, giving Jesus my best. . . . and He understands me like no other . . . my need to find love and a heart to give my best to His Plan to save, to the utmost all souls like myself, who needs the guidance of this power that comes from above.
Halloween is tomorrow, an event that some curse and some enjoy, others have a great fear of the devil being invited to play unkind jokes. It is a mystery of both joy and fear for some, but giving little gifts of candy to little children dressed up to entertain us. . . was something we enjoyed in Denver as kids. May it be an occasion to bless the children this year.
God prepares us for the final crisis in earth’s history with God winning the Event that will take place on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem spoken of in Revelation 11. . . when His Ten Laws for His Kingdom will come out of hiding.
May I give you this hint of His Soon Coming with His Angels in a cloud in the sky? Jesus will not touch down on this Earth, until He does a wonderful MAKEOVER, as we watch from the top of His 7,300,000-foot-high NEW JERUSALEM, that will come down from Heaven after we have been in Heaven with Him for a thousand years. I tried to figure out what 144 cubics were. Because that is the width of the wall around the New Jerusalem. According to my calculations, each cubic is 200 feet, the size of two football fields wide.
Image our earth, with mountains in Colorado at 14,000 feet high, next to the New Jerusalem with walls over 7 million feet high? If you can. God has shown us great things we cannot fathom, about His Kingdom, His Government, and His love for fallen humanity.
We must “forgive” Him, for birthing us into the WORLD, with evil trying to destroy every vestige of love for God, that tries to prove HIS LOVE IS FOR US FIRST because HE LOVED US before the world was created to be the testing ground of love for GOD or “man.”
Please choose GOOD over evil!
God Bless You and may His Face Always Shine upon YOU and GIVE YOU PEACE!
“Bless is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” Psalms 32:1
Psa 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
“That God who marks the fall of a sparrow marks your deportment and your feelings; He marks your envy, your prejudice, your attempt to justify your action in the least matter of injustice. When you misconceive the words and acts of another and your own feelings are stirred so that you make incorrect statements, and it is known that you are at variance with your brother you lead others, through their confidence in you, to regard him just as you do; and by the root of bitterness springing up, many are defiled. When it is evident that your feelings are incorrect, do you try just as diligently to remove the erroneous impressions as you did to make them?
Now God requires that you who have thus done the least injustice to another shall confess your fault, not only to the one you have injured but to those who through your influence have been led to regard their brother in a false light and to make of none effect the work God has given him to do. . . . By repentance and confession you can have pardon registered against your name, or you can have pardon registered against your name; or you can resist the conviction of the Spirit of God, and during the rest of your life, work to make it appear that your wrong feelings and unjust conclusions could not be helped. But there stands the action, there stands the evil committed, there stands the ruin of those in whose hearts you planted the root of bitterness. . .
Whatever the character of your sin, confess it. If it is against God only, confess only to Him. If you have wronged or offended others, confess also to them, and the blessing of the Lord will rest upon you. In this way, you die to self, and Christ is formed within. . . . Our consecration to God must be unreserved, our love ardent, our faith unwavering. Then the expressions of the lips will testify to the quickened intelligence of the mind and the deep moving of the Spirit of God upon the soul.”
Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White for October 29, 2022.
Is it possible to make amends by writing a letter?
“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” Matthew 5:11
“There was never one who walked among men more cruelly slandered than the Son of man. He was derided and mocked because of His unswerving obedience to the principles of God’s holy law. They hated him without a cause. Yet He stood calmly before His enemies, declaring that reproach is a part of the Christian’s legacy, counseling His followers on how to meet the arrows of malice, bidding them not to faint under persecution.
While slander may blacken the reputation, it can not stain the character. That is in God’s keeping. So long as we do not consent to sin, there is no power, whether human or satanic, that can bring a stain upon the soul. A man whose heart is stayed upon God is just the same in the hour of his most afflicting trials and most discouraging surroundings as when he was in prosperity when the light and favor of God seemed to be upon him. His words, his motives, and his actions may be misrepresented and falsified, but he does not mind it, because he has greater interests at stake. like Moses, he endures as “seeing him who is invisible” . . . .
Christ is acquainted with all that is misunderstood and misrepresented by men. His children can afford to WAIT in CALM patience and trust, no matter how much maligned and despised; for nothing is secret that shall not be made manifest, and those who honor God shall be honored by Him in the presence of men and angels.
“When men shall revile you and persecute you,” said Jesus, “rejoice, and be exceeding glad.”
“Great is the reward in heaven” of those who are witnesses for Christ through persecution and reproach. While the people are looking for earthly good, Jesus points them to a heavenly reward. But He does not place it all in the future life; it begins here.”
Sons and Daughters of God by Ellen White for October 28, 2022
Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Do some days feel like a dark cloud covers the “Light” coming from God’s Throne?
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 5:10
“Jesus does NOT present to His followers the hope of attaining earthly glory and riches, and of having a life free from trial, but He presents to them the privilege of walking with their Master in the paths of self-denial and reproach because the world knows them not.
(The last week has been full of trials, humiliation, persecution, and an awareness of my position. . .needing these very words! I write these blogs because I feel the ire of satan wishing to discourage me. . . then I come upon the study of the beatitudes and their special meaning to those who sat at His feet above the sea of Galilee, talking with them, and truly giving them “communion” by feeding them His words. This little book Sons and Daughters of God has an uncanny way of healing the wounds brought on by those who do not realize how their judgments of me, help keep me humble, which is what I asked the Lord to do when I felt chosen by Him to declare His words.)
He who came to redeem the lost world was opposed by the united forces of the adversaries of God and man. In an unpitying confederacy, evil men and evil angels arrayed themselves against the Prince of peace. Though His every word and act breathed of divine compassion, His unlikeness to the world provoked the bitterest hostility. Because he would give no license for the exercise of the evil passions of our nature. He aroused the fiercest opposition and enmity.* So it is with all who will live godly in Christ Jesus. Between righteousness and sin, love and hatred, truth and falsehood, there is an irrepressible conflict. When one presents the love of Christ and the beauty of holiness, he/she is drawing away the subjects of Satan’s kingdom, and the prince of evil is aroused to resist it. Persecution and reproach await all who are imbued with the Spirit of Christ. The character of the persecution changes with the times; but the principle-the spirit that underlies it is the same that has slain the chosen of the Lord ever since the days of Abel.
As men seek to come into harmony with God, they will find that the offense of the cross has not ceased. Principalities and powers and wicked spirits in high places are arrayed against all who yield obedience to the law of heaven. Therefore, so far from causing grief, persecution should bring joy to the disciples of Christ; for it is evidence that they are following in the steps of their Master. . . . .”
Through trials and persecution, the glory-character of God is revealed in His chosen ones.”
Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White for October 27, 2022.
Jesus with the Rabbi, making the Old Testament come alive, as Jesus is the prophet of destiny. . . who became known. . . for dying, coming, coming alive, and going back to heaven, in the Orion Nebula, like Moses and Elijah!
“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” Matthew 5:9
“Christ is “the Prince of peace,” and it is His mission to restore to earth and haven the peace that sin has broken. “Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Whoever consents to renounce sin, and opens his heart to the love of Christ, becomes a partaker of this heavenly peace.
“There is no other ground of peace than this. The grace of Christ received into the heart, subdues enmity; it allays strife and fills the soul with love. He who is at peace with God and his fellow men can not be made miserable. Envy will not be in his heart; evil surmisings will find no room there; hatred can not exist. The heart that is in harmony with God is a partaker of the peace of heaven and will diffuse its blessed influence on all around. The spirit of peace will rest like dew upon hearts weary and troubled with worldly strife.”
Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White p.306 for October 26,2022
The hungry and thirsty shall be filled. . . . prayer fills and refills our hearts . . . with confidence in God answering our prayers. Jesus seems to be teasing the children by showing the cups are upside down and they can’t hold water that way. . .just as we welcome truth . . . and our hearts open to receive truth, like something we love and want!
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6
“Righteousness is holiness, likeness to God, and “God is love.” It is conformity to the law of God; for “all thy commandments are righteousness,” and: Love is the fulfilling of the law.” Righteousness is love, and love is the light and the life of God. The Righteousness of God is embodied in Christ. We receive righteousness by receiving Him.”
Not by painful struggles or wearisome toil, not by gift or sacrifice, is righteousness obtained; but it is freely given to every soul who hungers and thirsts to receive it. . .
No human agent can supply that which will satisfy the hunger and thirst of the soul. But Jesus says: ” . . . I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
As we need food to sustain our physical strength, so do we need Christ, the bread from heaven, to sustain spiritual life, and impart strength to work the works of God. As the body is continually receiving the nourishment that sustains life and vigor, so the soul must be constantly communing with Christ, submitting to Him, and depending wholly upon Him.
As the weary traveler seeks the spring in the desert, and, finding it, quenches his burning thirst, so will the Christian thirst for and obtain the pure water of life, of which Christ is the fountain. . . . We need not seek to quench our thirst at shallow streams; for the great fountain is just above us, of whose abundant waters we may freely drink if we will rise a little higher in the pathway of faith.
The words of God are the wellspring of life. As you seek unto those living springs, you will, through the Holy Spirit, be brought into communion with Christ. . . . You will know that Christ is leading you; a divine Teacher is at your side.”
Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White p. 304 for October 25, 2022
“The heart of man is by nature cold and dark and unloving, whenever one manifests a spirit of mercy and forgiveness, he does it not of himself, but through the influence of the Divine Spirit moving upon his and her heart. “We love because he first loved us.”
God is Himself the source of all mercy. His name is “merciful and gracious.” He does not treat us according to our desert. He does not ask if we are worthy of His love, but He pours upon us the riches of His love, to make us worthy. He is not vindictive. He seeks not to punish, but to redeem. Even the severity which He manifests through his providences is manifested for the salvation of the wayward. He yearns with an intense desire to relieve the woes of men and women. . . . All whose hearts are in sympathy with the heart of Infinite Love will seek to reclaim, and not to condemn. Christ dwelling in the soul is a spring that never runs dry. Where He abides, there will be an overflowing of beneficence.
To the appeal of the erring, the tempted, the wretched victims of want and sin, the Christian does not asks, Are they worthy? but, How can I benefit them? In the most wretched, the most debased, he sees souls whom Christ died to save. . . . The merciful are those who manifest compassion to the poor, the suffering, and the oppressed. . .
He who has given his life to God in ministry to His children is linked with Him who has all the resources of the universe at His command. His life is bound up by the golden chain of immutable promises with the life of God. The Lord will not fail him/her in the hour of suffering and need. “My God shall supply all you need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” And in the hour of final need, the merciful shall find refuge in the mercy of the compassionate Saviour, and shall be received into everlasting habitations.”
Sons and Daughters of God by Ellen White p. 305 for October 25
I never thought about the Disciples of Jesus Christ as being “meek.”
“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5
There were occasions when Christ spoke with an authority that sent His words home with irresistible force, with an overwhelming sense of the greatness of the Speaker, and the human agencies shrunk into nothingness in comparison with the One before them. They were deeply moved; their minds were impressed that He was repeating the command from the most excellent glory. As He summoned the world to LISTEN, they were spellbound and entranced, and conviction came to their minds. Every word made for itself a place, and the hearers believed and received the words that they had no power to resist. Every word He uttered seemed to the hearers as the LIFE OF GOD. He was giving evidence that HE WAS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD and the AUTHORITY OF THE CHURCH, claiming PRE-EMINENCE over them all.”
Lowliness of heart, that meekness which is the fruit of abiding in Christ, is the true secret of blessing. “He will beautify the meek with salvation.” . . . It was through the desire for self-examination that sin entered into the world; and our first parents lost dominion over this fair earth, their kingdom. It is through self-abnegation that Christ redeems that which was lost. And he says we are to overcome as he did. Through humility and self-surrender we may become heirs with Him when the “meek shall inherit the earth.”
