Apt Pupils in the School of Christ Moab a Failure Because He Refused to Change

Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed. Jeremiah 48:11

“A man may refuse to hear the counsels and admonitions of God. He may choose to take the regulating of his conduct into his own hands. . . .Like Moab, he refuses to be changed. . . .

“There are many who are not satisfied with the work that God has given them. They are not satisfied to serve Him pleasantly in the place that He has marked out for them, or to do uncomplainingly the work that He has placed in their hands. It is right for us to be dissatisfied with the way in which we perform duty, but we are not to be dissatisfied with the duty itself, because. . . .in His providence God places before human beings service that will be as medicine for their diseased minds. . . .Some he places where relaxed discipline and over-indulgence will not become their snare, where they are taught to appreciate the value of time, and to make the best and wisest use of it.

“There are some who desire to be a ruling power, and who need the sanctification of submission. . . .They are being qualified to fill places where their disciplined ability will make them of the greatest service. Some God trains by bringing to them disappointment and apparent failure. It is His purpose that they shall learn to master difficulty. . . .

“Many are ignorant of how to work for God, not because they need to be ignorant, but because they are not willing to submit to his training process. Moab is spoken of as a failure because, the Word declares, “he hath been at ease from his youth.”

Sons and Daughters of God, E.G. White March 31.

P.S. My parents took stock in having us go to work. The time it took for them to drive me to work and pick me up, showed me how important the training I was receiving was to them. In time those early days of working at Porter Sanitarium, in the kitchen was as much fun as work. Other students were working washing dishes, and some were working with the laundry and changing beds. Yes, we made some money, but working with others, moving up in being trusted, made me the cashier, and also the one who made the thickest malts for the student nurses, nurses, doctors, and internes. My position in the kitchen, was educational in many more ways that just “going to work.”

I tend to feel sorry for kids who don’t get to have fun working together. But, it did take up my parents time and patience, to get me to work on time, which they did. They were part of the “gang” that made it possible for me to learn that work is fun.

Extra: As It Was in the Days of Noah

Noah’s Ark

And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed. Genesis 5:29

“As it was in the Days of Noah.” We are living in the very last days of this earth’s history. The terrible calamities that have recently visited our country show that the judgments of the Lord are falling on the world. The destruction of these cities is a warning to us to prepare for what is coming upon the earth. In the future there will be broken thrones and great distress of nations, with perplexity. Satan will work with intense activity. The earth will be filled with the shrieks of suffering, expiring nations. There will be war, war. The places of the earth will be in confusion, as from its bowels pours forth its burning contents, to destroy the inhabitants of the world who, in their wickedness, resemble the inhabitants of the antediluvian world.

“In that time, as in this, there were two classes, the righteous and the wicked. Enoch and others walked with God in uprightness (We now know they were translated with Enoch, more than eight people were saved from the flood) But the great majority of the inhabitants of the earth were given over to iniquity, and their wickedness rose before God.The earth “was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.” “The wickedness of man was great in the earth, and . . .every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” “And God looked upon the earth.” “And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. And the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man and beast, and creeping thing, and fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.” “And God said unto Noah, “The end of all flesh is come before Me: for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” (Genesis 6:5-13)

“God gave direction that an ark was to be built for those who desired to be saved from the coming destruction. He was about to speak in determined language against the wickedness that had gown to fearful proportions. He was about to clothe Himself with vengeance, and execute His judgment against the transgressors of His law. He would arise out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity and bold transgression.

“Christ declared that as it was in the days of Noah, so it would be in the day of His coming. And the war, the bloodshed, the wicked deeds of the old world, fill the world today.

“Those who keep the law of God will, like Enoch and Noah, give to the world a message of warning. In Jude we read: “Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saing, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him” (Genesis 6:14,15)

“This whole chapter is a warning of the feeling that will exist in the world, and that will increase in intensity to the close of time.

“(Jude 10-13, 16, quoted) These words will be fulfilled. Selfish plans for the uplifting of self will be made and carried out Men will strive, as did Nebuchadnezzar, to glorify self.

Jud 1:20  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Jud 1:21  Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jud 1:22  And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jud 1:23  And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Doxology
Jude 1:24  Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,  To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Christ declared, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the husbandman. Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. . . .Herein is My Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit: as so shall ye be My disciples. As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My love. If you keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love. These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full” (John 15:1,2, 8-11).

“What fruit does Christ expect from His disciples? The exerting of an influence like the influence exerted by the Redeemer. He expects us to follow His example of perfect goodness, living in obedience to all His commandments. Thus it is that we become Christlike. Only thus can we bear much fruit.

“Justification is the reward of faith in the righteousness of Christ. His imputed righteousness brings everyone who accepts Him as a personal Saviour into conformity to the will of God. His righteousness goes before them. He leads the way, bidding us follow Him. He who follows Christ must live in obedience to the law of God. Sin and holiness cannot unite.”

SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD, by E. G. White Manuscript Release No 1313-5.

P.S. Some have not understood, how wicked Jesus seemed in breaking the Sabbath, eating with sinners, helping the prostitutes, women in distress, even women who had five husbands and the man she was living with was not her husband. A closer look at the way JESUS loved, the masses, the individuals, the fishermen, his mother, his family. Even his own family could not see why he needed to be at odds with “the church.” The priests of Levi, were foremost in wishing this rebel, Jesus was dead. The High Priest worked to prove Jesus was blasphemous, and anti God.

Jesus was about to topple, the system of a blood sacrifice and its many traditions, that brought joy to the rich, as they could parade their wealth, rather than give like the woman, who gave her last penny, and left to trust in God to get her through.

Could we walk in the sandals of Jesus, without a home, without funds, without a plan, that could be understood. . .? Even the disciples of Jesus could not understand THE PROPHECY or THE PROPHET until it was fulfilled. The shock of Jesus dying, being crucified by the Jews, and the FUTURE KINGDOM of JESUS ON EARTH, would not happen. . .they were first to be hugely disappointed.

If we experience, some disappointment, in our lives, and yet look forward to His soon coming, to see what a KIND, and LOVING FATHER, would not bring us to our knees, to see HIS GREAT LOVE for all mankind? How humbling will it be to see Our Jesus Coming in the clouds, to raise us up, to be with Him!

I personally think we can cry happy tears, that all we’ve been taught is coming true. What? Jesus loves you! He understands your motives! Man looks on the outward appearance and Jesus looks upon your HEART! Jesus sees what no man can. Christ’s legacy is peace. “Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so I send you.”

Yes, You!

Wr

Our angels come to take us back to our Mothers. And the families are brought together. Our angels take us to where we need to go. They know the whole story of how we came to love The Lord.

Apt Pupils in the School of Christ: Paul Blinded so He Would See Christ

Paul blinded on the road to Damascus, on an errand to kill Christians.

“And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.” Acts 9:17

“In the military schools of Egypt, Moses was taught the LAW of FORCE, and so strong a hold did this teaching have upon his character that it required forty years. . . to fit him for leadership of Israel by that the LAW OF LOVE. The same lesson Paul had to learn.

“At the gate of Damascus the vision of the Crucified One changed, the whole current of his life. The days of darkness spent in solitude at Damascus were as years in his experience. The Old Testament Scriptures stored in his memory were his study, and Christ his teacher. To him also nature’s solitudes became a school. To the desert of Arabia he went, there to study the Scriptures and to learn of God. He emptied his soul of the prejudices and traditions that had shaped his life, and received instruction from the Source of truth.

“His after-life was inspired by the one principle of self-sacrifice, and the ministry of love. “I am debtor,” he said, “both to the Greeks, and to the barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.” . . .

“While he possessed high intellectual endowments, the life of Paul revealed the power of a rarer wisdom. Principles of deepest import, principles concerning which the greatest minds of his time were ignorant, are unfolded in his teachings and exemplified in his life. He had that greatest of all wisdom, which gives quickness of insight and sympathy of heart, which brings man in touch with men, and enables him to arouse their better nature and inspire them to a higher life. . . .

“Being reviled,” he said, “we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it; being defamed, we entreat”; “as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.”

SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD, by E. G. White for March 30

P.S. Changing man trained in the military to use force, to coming to THE SOURCE, and to be drawn to Christ, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

What direction must Christ take us to be filled with the Holy Ghost?

“Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing.” How does that look?

Apt Pupils in the School of Christ include JOB Though Severely Tried Remained Perfect and Upright

Job 1:1  There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. I Peter 3:11

To eschew evil, is to hate it, shun it, to acknowledge it and replace it with good, peace and fear God, like the heavenly father He is, like a heavenly Mother He is, Like a Heavenly Brother He is. Like a FAMILY whose perfect love, draws us to them, offering Love, Joy and Peace.

“Very early in the history of the world is given the life-record of one over whom this controversy of Satan’s was waged. Of Job, the patriarch of Uz, the testimony of the Searcher of hearts was, “There is none like him in the earth, a perfect an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil.

“Against this man, Satan brought scornful charge: “Doth Job fear God for naught?” Hast thou not made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?”

“The Lord said unto Satan, “All that he hath is in they power.” “Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.”

“Thus permitted, Satan swept away all that Job possessed,—flocks and herds, men-servants and maidens, sons and daughters; and he “smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.”

“Still another element of bitterness was added to his cup, His friends, seeing in adversity but the retribution of sin, pressed on his bruised and burdened spirit their accusations of wrong-doing. . . .

“When he hath tried me, ” he said, “I shall come forth as gold.” So it came to pass. By his patient endurance he vindicated his own character, and thus the character of Him whose representative he was.

“The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. . . . So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning.

SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD, by E. G. White for March 29

P.S. When you think you have trials, as I did, I went to my friends house and we read the Story of Job. There is irony, there is humor, there is a facing of reality in knowing God permitted Job to be tried in the fire like gold. Job knew he was being tried by God and he said, “I shall come forth as gold.”

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Rev 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. (Revelations’ 3:18,19)

Today as I chewed theses words of truth, and taking the challenge to be like “gold tried in the fire, that I may be rich, and clothed with white rament, and my shame and nakedness is covered with HIS ROBE OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, I ask for my eyes to be anointed with eyesalve, that I might see, His great love, in rebuking and chastising me, to humble me, into repentance.

HOW EVER: the result was a physical muscular relaxation in my shoulders. . . like the reality of having my sins cleansed, and receiving his loving rebukes, means He loves me and He loves you.

HOWEVER: When I take His to buy of Him, gold tried in the fire. . . .I can expect something to go very wrong with my day. . .and when it does. . .I can laugh…because He heard my prayer. . .and He has anointed my eyes, to see the great pains of those around me. . .and I share their grief.

And I remember. . . . Ezekiel 9: And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

THIS IS THE MARK, set upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and cry for all the abominations that we see around us. God sees His bewildered children, and there is a limit to his restraint He must end the evil and save those who have a healthy fear of awe and respect for His Judgment is based on knowing our motives. . . .while mankind may not understand our love and His great compassion for the world, now floundering under the rule of evil.

This mark of Loyalty to God, no man can see, but the death angel will fly over, passover, those who are loyal to the God of Mount Sinai.

EXTRA: Modern Martyrs against the armies of the aliens

From the Gallery of 20th Century Martyrs at Westminster Abbey—l. to r. Mother Elizabeth of Russia, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Archbishop Óscar Romero and Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,   Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Hebrews 11:33,34.

“Every manifestation of God’s power for His people arouses the enmity of Satan. Every time God works in their behalf, Satan with his angels works with renewed vigor to compass their ruin. He is jealous of all who make Christ their strength. His object is to instigate evil, and when he has succeeded, throw all the blame upon the tempted ones. He points to their filthy garments, their defective characters. He presents their weakness and folly, their sins of ingratitude, their unlikeness to Christ, which have dishonored their Redeemer. All this he urges as an argument proving his right to work his will in their destruction. He endeavors to affright their souls with the thought that their case is hopeless, that the stain of their defilement can never be washed away. He hopes so to destroy their faith that they will yield fully to his temptation, and turn from their allegiance to God.

“The Lord’s people cannot of themselves answer the charges of Satan. As they look to themselves they are ready to despair. But they appeal to the divine Advocate. They plead the merits of the Redeemer. God can be “just and justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Romans 3:26. With confidence of the Lord’s children cry unto Him to silence the accusations of Satan, and bring to naught his devices. “Do me justice of mine adversary,” they pray; and with the mighty argument of the cross, Christ silences the bold accuser.

“The Lord said unto Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan, even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee; is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?” When Satan seeks to cover the people of God with blackness, and ruin them, Christ interposes. Although they have sinned, Christ has taken the gilt of their sins upon His own soul. He has snatched the [human] race as a brand from the fire. By His human nature He is linked with man, while through His divine nature He is one with the infinite God. Help is brought within the reach of perishing souls. The aversay is rebuked.

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel, and he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair miter upon his head. So they set a fair miter upon his head, and clothed him or her with garments.” Then with the authority of the Lord of hosts the angel made a solemn pledge to Joshua, the representative of God’s people: “If thou wilt walk in My ways, and if thou wilt keep My charge, then thou shalt also judge My house, and shalt also keep My courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by”—even among the angels that surround the throne of God. Zechariah 3:3-7.

“Notwithstanding the defects of the people of God, Christ does not turn away from the objects of His care. He has the power to change their raiment. He removes the filthy garments, He places upon the repenting, believing ones His own robe of righteousness, and writes pardon against their names on the records of heaven. He confesses them as His before the heavenly universe. Satan their adversary is shown to be an accuser and deceiver. God will do JUSTICE FOR HIS OWN ELECT.

“The prayer, “Do me justice of mine adversary,” applies not only to Satan, but to the agencies whom he instigates to misrepresent, to tempt, and to destroy the people of God. Those who have decided to obey the commandments of God will understand by experience that they have adversaries who are controlled by a power from beneath. Such adversaries best Christ at every step, how constantly and determinedly no human being can ever know. Christ’s disciples, like their Master, are followed by continual temptation.

“The Scriptures describe the condition of the world just before Christ’s second coming. James the apostle pictures the greed and oppression that will prevail. He says, “Go to now, ye rich men, . . .ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth : and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton. Ye have nourished your hearts, as in the day of slaughter, Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.” James 5:1-6. This is a picture of what exists today. By every species of oppression and extortion, men are piling up colossal fortunes, while the cries of starving humanity are coming up before God.

“Judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey.” Isaiah 59:14,15. This was fulfilled in the life of Christ on earth. He was loyal to God’s Commandments, setting aside the human traditions and requirement which had been exalted in their place. Because of this He was hated and persecuted. This history is repeated. The laws and traditions of men are exalted above the law of God, and those who are true to God’s commandments suffer reproach and persecution. Christ, because of his faithfulness to God, was accused as a Sabbath breaker and blasphemer. He was declared to be possessed of a devil and was denounced as Beelzebub. In like manner His followers are accused and misrepresented. Thus Satan hopes to lead them to sin, and cast dishonor upon GOD.

“The character . . .who feared not God nor regarded man, was presented by Christ to show the kind of judgment that was then being executed, and that would soon be witnessed at His trial. He desires His people in all time to realize how little dependence can be placed on earthly rulers or judges in the day of adversity. Often the elect people of God have to stand before men in official positions who do not make the word of God their guide and counselor, but who follow their own unconsecrated, undisciplined impulses.

“In the parable of the unjust judge, Christ has shown what we should do. “Shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him?” Christ, our example did nothing to vindicate or deliver Himself. He committed His case to God. So His followers are not to accuse or condemn, or to resort to force in order to deliver themselves.

“When trial arise that seem unexplainable, we should not allow our peace to be spoiled. However unjustly we may be treated, let not passion arise. By indulging a spirit of retaliation we injure ourselves. We destroy our own confidence in God, and grieve the Holy Spirit. There is by our side a witness, a heavenly messenger, who will lift up for us a standard against the enemy. He will shut us in with the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness. Beyond this Satan cannot penetrate. He cannot pass this shield of holy light.

“While the world is progressing in wickedness, none of us need flatter ourselves that we shall have no difficulties. But it is these very difficulties that bring us into the audience chamber of the Most High. We may seek counsel of one who is infinite in wisdom.

“The Lord says, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble.” Psalms 50:15. He invites us to present to Him our perplexities and necessities, and our need of divine help. He bids us be instant in prayer. As Soon as difficulties arises, we are to offer to Him our sincere, earnest petitions. By our importunate prayers we give evidence of our strong confidence in God. The sense of our need leads us to pray earnestly, and our heavenly Father is moved by our supplications.

“Often those who suffer reproach or persecution for their faith are tempted to think themselves forsaken by God. In the eyes of men they are in the minority. To all appearance their enemies triumph over them. But let them not violate their conscience. He who has suffered in their behalf, and has borne their sorrows and afflictions, has not forsaken them.

“The children of God are not left alone and defenseless. Prayer moves the arm of Omnipotence. Prayer has “subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire” —we shall know what it means when we hear the reports of the martyrs who died for their faith —-“turneth to flight the armies of the aliens. .” Hebrews 11:33, 34.

THIS BEARS REPEATING

Heb 11:33  Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
Heb 11:34  Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

P.S. -we shall know what it means when we hear the reports of the martyrs who died for their faith — the two witnesses in Revelation 11 are martyrs and a prophecy that must be fulfilled before Jesus comes.

If we surrender our lives to His service, we can never be placed in a position for which God has not made provision. Whatever may be our situation, we have a Guide to direct our way; whatever our perplexities, we have a sure Counselor; whatever our sorrow, bereavement, or loneliness, we have a sympathizing Friend. In our ignorance we make missteps, Christ does not leave us. His voice, clear and distinct, is heard saying, “I am the Way the Truth, and the Life.” John 14:6. “He shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.” Psalms 72:12. Christs Object Lessons, by E. G. White, p.164-172

P.S. By copying these verses, and studying these pages, I can connect with the martyrs.

In poetry, listen for the change in VOICES….the Bible is full of RED LETTERS….read those RED LETTERS. Then come to understand the Law and Prophets are in agreement….some of the prophets have come closer to God, by embarrassing themselves.

Humble ain’t so bad once you get used to it. . .I can say that with confidence. . .When I paint with acrylics, unlike oil paint, they dry fast. I can make mistakes, right and left in painting with acrylics. . .however, I can also fix my mistakes faster, when I can see them. . . .sometimes I have to adjust “color” that is not scientifically correct in relationship to where the sun is, and how much “light” is coming from what direction.

When I reached the point of wanting to be scientifically correct, I had to go back outside in the open air, at the right time of day, to catch the golden sun, the yellow green, the turquoise, then blues, then darker blues. And in fact, until I get the right colors scientifically. . . the painting is “not correct” in my eyes or mind. Thus, there are still paintings in my collection in NEED of being “on the site” in the “air” or plein air as it is called. that do not meet my expectations of what these colors are…..because science, is demanding me to meet its own requirements. And the study of light, color, reflections, and subtle changes from shadows, still draw me to take pictures at twilight. Black and White photography separates the colors . . .into black and white, with shades of gray. These “shades of grayed colors” becomes a challenge to mix. . .and like LIFE, there are some characters whose are truly kind, loving, and needing attention, like a cat or dog. You cannot treat LIFE, as if it is black and white, you might MISS some of the special connections between light and the shadow of the same tree.

Yesterday I met one of the most painted people and hired as a model by artists. I want to share his face.

You may have seen him as Santa Clouse or an indian scout, who knows, He also carves wood and deer horns. The slightly closed eyes, are a means of meditation. . .Maybe we could image his call to prayer, from the gods of man to a higher power.

Apt Pupils in the School of Christ: Moses Endured as Seeing Him Who Is Invisible

Rembrandt painted Moses Smashing the Ten Commandments in a moment of anger. . .he ended the worship of the golden calf, drinking and dancing.

Hebrews 11:27  By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

“For the honor of God and the deliverance of His downtrodden people, Moses sacrificed the honors of Egypt. Then, in a special sense, God undertook his training. . . .He had yet to learn the lesson of dependence upon divine power, He had mistaken God’s purpose. It was his hope to deliver Israel BY FORCE OF ARMS. For this he risked all, and failed. In defeat and disappointment he became a fugitive and exile in a strange land. . . . Apparently cut off forever from his life’s mission, he was receiving the discipline essential for its fulfilment. . . .He must obtain the experience that would make him a faithful, long-suffering shepherd to Israel. . . . In the stern simplicity of the wilderness. . . Moses gained that which went with him throughout the years of his toilsome and care-burdened life, —a sense of the personal presence of the Divine One. . . . When misunderstood and misrepresented, when called to bear reproach and insult, to face danger and death, he was able to endure “as seeing him who is invisible.”

“Moses stands forth superior in wisdom and integrity to all the sovereigns and statesmen of earth. . . .He was generous, noble, well balanced; he was not defective, and his qualities were not merely half developed. He could successfully exhort his fellow-men, because his life itself was a living representation of what man can become and accomplish with God as his helper. . . . He spoke from the heart and it reached the heart. He was accomplished in knowledge and yet simple as a child in the manifestation of his deep sympathies. Endowed with a remarkable instinct, he could judge instantly of the needs of all who surrounded him. . . Of the man who is noted for his meekness, Christ says, He can be trusted. Through him I can reveal Myself to the world. He will not weave into the web any threads of selfishness.”

P.S. It seems as if God allowed Moses to “try saving His children, by killing the enemy.” But often leadership is reminded, “not by might, nor by power, but by His SPIRIT.”

Zec 4:6  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Apt Pupils in the School of Christ like Elisha’s Faithfulness Rewarded

The Call of Elisha
1Ki 19:19  So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

“The prophet Elijah was about to close his earthly labors. Another was to be called to carry forward the work for that time. In his course of travel, Elijah was directed northward. . . . Wherever Elijah looked the land he saw was owned by one man, —-a man who had not bowed the knee to Baal, whose heart had remained undivided in the service of God. . . .The owner of the land was Shaphat. . .

“The attention of Elijah was attracted to Elisha, the son of Shaphat who with the servants was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen. He was educator, director, and worker. Elisha did not live in the thickly populated cities. His father was a tiler of the soil, a farmer. Far from city and court dissipation, Elisha had received his education. He had been trained in habits of simplicity, of obedience to his parents and to God. . . . But though of a meek and quiet spirit, Elisha had no changeable character. Integrity and fidelity and the love and fear of God were his. He had the characteristics of a ruler, but with it all was the meekness of one who would serve. His mind had been exercised in the little things, to be faithful in whatsoever hs should do; so that if God should call him to act more directly for Him, he would be prepared to hear his voice.

” The surroundings of Elisha’s home were those of wealth; but he realized that in order to obtain an all-round education, he must be a constant worker in any work that needed to be done. He had not consented to be in any respect less informed than his father’s servants. he had learned how to serve first, that he might know how to lead, instruct, and command.”

“Elisha stood in Elijah’s place. And he who had been faithful in that least, proved himself faithful also in much.”

SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD, E. G. White for March 27

Today’s NEWS accounts are bringing us closer and close to the final Bible Prophecies that will cause us to choose between God and that which is good, or Evil, and that which is evil.

Rev 14:9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Rev 14:10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev 14:11  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Rev 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev 14:13  And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

If ever there is a LAST DAY PROPHECY, that PROVES THE BIBLE IS TRUE, it is the soon coming MONETARY CHANGE OF COINS to data, rather than money. If you have put your FAITH in money, you should be worried, and remember, the access to the TREE OF LIFE and the WATER OF LIFE, in Heaven, is a free gift.

The near future is being “threatened” by the rich and famous, who buy low and sell high. Your salvation depends upon your best friend Jesus, who invites you to walk in His shoes. . . .to be scorned, laughed at and despised, rejected of men. The COST of ETERNAL LIFE, is dependent on being humble enough to bow down and worship, Him, who became NOTHING, in order to SAVE EVERYTHING, from the CURSE OF DEATH.

YOUR best insurance is to invite the heavenly angels to come down and watch over you, as they did the prophets, and sons and daughters of God. FEAR NOT LITTLE CHILDREN, GOD WILL SEE YOU THROUGH, and He cares for you like a mother hen, who hides her chicks under her wings.

It’s time to abandon the things of this earth. . . .and whatever it is that attracts your attention, to set it aside, for the weighter gifts that await you in Heaven. Being sons and daughters of Christ, The King, is very rewarding love, joy and peace.

Taking the worries out of our hands, and putting them in HIS HAND, is a very sweet and childlike thing, to have a father who loves you enough, to let HIS SON, return to earth, and follow Him, who said by the sea of Galilee, “Follow me.” “Follow me.” “Follow me.”

P.S. There is something to be said, about all the men, women and children, who have been led out of trouble, because they remember how He has led us in the past. God cared enough to send his son, to pay the price of ENDING DEATH. . . .and those who destroy.

May the peace of God reach your like the sunlight on the morning dew, that drops its rain on earth, and begins a new day for you and me.

It is time to get out of the big cities. . .

Lazarus Raised to Testify to God’s Glory

When Walter posed at the entrance to Lazarus Tomb, and appeared to be coming out of the grave, this Mother’s heart again became thankful, that her little boy, not yet two years old, came out of the near-drowning unit at the Oakland Children’s Hospital, in response to so many unknown people praying for him, a little boy on the Channel 3 News in California, God answered their prayers! Praise the Lord for He can raise the dead!

Lazarus Tomb, is a cave in the ground. Something about seeing it, seems strange, yet it is almost like a cellar attached to the house of Simon, whose nephew Lazarus, niece’s Mary and Martha lived.

Joh 11:4  When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

Christ’s two days’ delay after hearing that Lazarus was sick was not a neglect or a denial on His part. . . .This should be an encouragement to us. . . .We are to rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him. The answer to our prayers may not come as quickly as we desire, and it may not be just what we have asked; but He who knows what is for the highest good of His children will bestow a much greater good than we have asked, if we do not become faithless and discouraged.

“Christ had not only the loved ones at Bethany to think of; He had the training of His disciples to consider. They were to be His representatives to the world, that the Father’s blessing might include all. For their sake he permitted Lazarus to die. Had He restored him from illness to health, the miracle that is the most positive evidence of His divine character would not have been performed.

“Had Christ been in the sick-room, Lazarus would not have died; . . . for Satan would have had NO POWER OVER him. In the presence of the LIFEGIVER; death could not have aimed his dart at Lazarus. . . . He permitted Lazarus to pass under the dominion of death, and the suffering sisters saw their brother laid in the tomb. Christ knew that as they looked on the face of their dead brother, their faith in their REDEEMER would be severely tried. Thus He was pruning the branches, that they might bring forth more fruit. He knew that because of the struggle through which they were now passing, their faith would shine forth with far greater power.

“To all who are reaching out to feel the guiding hand of God, the moment of greatest discouragement is the time when divine help is nearest. . . .From every temptation and every trial He will bring them forth with firmer faith and a richer experience.

From the Scriptures Comes The Law

800 scrolls the Entire Torah or Tenakh of the Old Testament, highly quoted in the New Testament

Moses seems to be the writer, who put the history of the Children of God, into the first ten books of the Bible. The “laws” to govern the slaves, born in slavery in Egypt, included many procedures to govern this new tribe, who had been passed over, by the death angel, because they had put the “sign” on their doors, of being saved by the blood of the Lamb.

The days spent at Mount Sinai, waiting for Moses to return from the fiery mountain, were being spent wisely, by God suggesting the law and order for His children. Thus the TEXT here explains what to do with a THIEF.

“If the thief be found, let him pay double.” Exodus 22:7

“The Talmud explains that an armed robber can make restitution simply by returning the stolen item. A thief, who steals in stealth, must return the object and pay a heavy fine.

“Why is the thief punished more severely? By operating in stealth, he indicated that he feared being observed by humans, but was NOT CONCERNED that GOD SAW HIS DEEDS. In other words, he essentially denied the providence of God. While the robber’s act was just as DISHONEST, he at least equated people WITH GOD. Hence, although his attitude was one of DEFIANCE OF GOD, it was not necessarily one of denial.

“Sometimes we do things that are not ethically sound, and in order to avoid social sanction and to maintain a reputation of decency, we may act in such a manner that is appears to be ethically proper. While we may indeed succeed in this deception, we must remember that there is One Who cannot be deceived, and Who knows the truth of our behavior. We should realize that ACTING in such a manner is essentially A DENIAL as well as a DEFIANCE OF GOD.

“It is evident now why the their pays DOUBLE. The robber only for defiance of God, whereas the thief must must PAY FOR DEFIANCE AND DENIAL.

“People who think they are willing to sacrifice their very LIVES rather then deny GOD should reflect on whether they might NOT ACTUALLY DENY GOD, for the sake of mere monetary gain. The acti test of LOYALTY TO GOD is not just in MARTYRDOM, but in LIVING HONESTLY.

TODAY I SHALL , , , , dedicate myself to honestly in all my affairs and realize that dishonest behaviour constitutes a denial of God.

Growing Each Day, by Rabbi Abraham J. Twerski, M.D.

It has been said the children of the Jews, have a record of not being seen in jail as often of those who have not be trained to think of God watching over them, to bless.

Christian families who promote the realization that “sin” is “against” GOD, and it is our “sins” that “crucify Him.”…so we would not want to go to our sheep pens, and have to offer a sacrificial lamb. . .there has to be a COST, for sin. . . .so let’s NOT PUT THE PUNISHMENT FOR OUR SINS ON HIM. . . .JESUS CHRIST the son of man and the Son of God, by whose righteousness…..we wish to appreciate and soon see him coming in the clouds, to take us to Heaven. So by obeying, we are crucifying Jesus. We obey Him because we LOVE HIM, as our very best friend, who also prays for us on 24/7 basis.

Peter’s Sifting Resulted in His Conversion

‘And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:  But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.  Luke 2’2:31-32

“The reason so many of Christ’s professed disciples fall into grievous temptation is that they have not a correct knowledge of themselves. Here is where Peter was so thoroughly sifted by the enemy. If we could understand our own weakness, we should see so much to do for ourselves that we would humble our hearts under the mighty hand of God. Hanging our helpless souls upon Christ, we would supplement our ignorance with His wisdom, our weakness with His strength, our frailty with His enduring might. Peter fell because he did not know his own frailty. He thought himself strong. . . .

“Had Peter walked humbly with God, hiding self in Christ; had he earnestly looked for divine help; had he been less self-confident; had he received the Lord’s instruction and practised it, he would have been watching unto prayer. . . . Had he closely examined himself, the Lord would have given him divine help and there would have been no need of Satan’s sifting. . . . There is no power in the whole satanic force that can disable the soul that trusts, in simple confidence, in the wisdom that comes from God.

“The watch-care of Christ for Peter was the cause of his restoration. Satan could do nothing against the all-powerful intercession of Christ. And the prayer that Christ offered for Peter He offers in behalf of all who are humble and contrite in heart. . . . Peter sinned against light and knowledge, and against great nad exalted privileges. It was self-confidence that caused him to fail, and it is this same evil that is now working in human hearts. It may be our purpose to be right and to do right, but we shall most surely err unless we are constant learners in the school of Christ. Our only safety is in walking humble with God.”

Sons and Daughters of God, by Ellen White for March 25

P.S. Image Noah coming out the Ark, and finding the WORLD HE KNEW WAS GONE….and he would have to begin like a CAVE MAN. . . . .

P. S. I can’t believe how this daily study is personal encouragement for me, and I feel the stress in my shoulders relax when I read, “There is NO POWER in the WHOLE SATANIC FORCE that can DISABLE the SOUL THAT TRUSTS, in SIMPLE CONFIDENCE, in the WISDOM that COMES FROM GOD.

“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.Isaiah 30:15

The irony of GOD, shows us the way to RETURN TO HIM and REST, BE SAVED, IN QUIETNESS and IN CONFIDENCE, shall be YOUR STRENGTH…..then COMES THE CHALLENGE….ye would not.

irony (countable and uncountableplural ironies)

  1. (rhetoric) A statement that, when taken in context, may actually mean something different from, or the opposite of, what is written literally; the use of words expressing something other than their literal intention, often in a humorous context.[1] quotations ▼
  2. Dramatic irony: a theatrical effect in which the meaning of a situation, or some incongruity in the plot, is understood by the audience, but not by the characters in the play.
  3. Ignorance feigned for the purpose of confounding or provoking an antagonist; Socratic irony.
  4. The state of two usually unrelated entities, parties, actions, etc. being related through a common connection in an uncommon way.

God has a plan for our lives! So why do move to defense position against him, with anger, hostility towards him, when in fact, what we want is inner peace. . . . of mind. . . . that He is in control of life. . .and we can rest in what ALL he has done for us! And the purpose of SIFTING AND SHAKING…made Peter, a converted man.
