“Every soul is fully known to Jesus as if he were the only one for whom the Saviour died. The distress of every one touches His heart. The cry for aid reaches His ear. He came to draw all men unto Himself. he bids them, “Follow Me,” and His Spirit moves upon their hearts to draw them to come to Him. Many refuse to be drawn. Jesus knows who they are. He also knows who gladly hear His call, and are ready to come under His pastoral care. He says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” He cares for each one as if there were not another on the face of the earth.
“He calls His own sheep by name, and leads them out . . .And the sheep follow Him: for they know His voice.” The Scripture says “Thou leddest Thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.” Through the prophet, Jesus declares, “I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.” He compels none to follow Him. “I drew them,” He says, “with cords of man with bands of love.” Ps 777:20, Jer 31:3; Hosea 11:4.
“It is not the fear of punishment, or the hope of everlasting rewards that leads the disciples of Christ to follow Him. They behold the Saviour’s matchless love, revealed throughout His pilgrimage on earth, from the manger of Bethlehem to Calvary’s cross, and the sight of Him attracts, it softens and subdues the soul. Love awakens in the heart of the beholders. They hear His voice, and they follow Him.
“As the shepherd goes before his sheep, himself first encountering the perils of the way, so does Jesus with His people. “When He putteth forth His own sheep, He goes before them.” The way to heaven is consecrated by the Saviour’s footprints. The path may be steep and rugged, but Jesus has traveled that way; His feet have pressed down the cruel thorns, to make the pathway easier for us. Every burden that we are called to bear He himself has borne.
“Though now He has ascended to the presence of God, and shares the throne of the universe, Jesus has lost none of His compassionate nature. Today the same tender, sympathizing heart is open to all the woes of humanity. Today the hand that was pierced is reached forth to bless more abundantly His people that are in the world. “And they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.”
“However much a shepherd may love his sheep, he loves his sons and daughters more.”
When I read these passages of hope, love and understand by experience, where I have had to go . . .following his path. . .I never wish to see anyone I’ve known to have to face “themselves” like I have, and find “themselves” also in need of a Saviour…then I find, as I look back on my life…those ups and downs that made me frown at myself. . .were just what I needed to humble me. And I got low enough to know, He had to take me where I would learn, to appreciate what all he has done for me, both good and bad, to humble me. Ain’t education grand? lol
Here I sit, with crickets chirping, the Who Owl hooting, the life and death struggle of garden plants ending their time of giving me fruit. And in this content stage of wondering, I surmise: I know nothing. Except tomorrow may be THE DAY HE COMES AGAIN, to show THE WORLD, He can and will, RAISE THE DEAD and TAKE THEM HOME, but not the ones who crucified Jesus.
Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Dan 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Pilate: The wishy washy man who thought he could flog Jesus, but the Jews said, “Crucify Him and let his blood (his death) be upon our heads.”
King Herod: Who tried to kill the prophet John the Baptizer, but saw in Jesus the same kind of man who say, “You should not be living with your brother’s wife.”
The duo High Priests, Father and Son: Who claimed, “One should die” to save us or we perish.
These three, were the leadership, of One Nation Under God, who crucified His Son.
My faith is not about “which kingdom will last”….GODS KINGDOM has a problem with rebellion and denying His Holy Spirit. So, I do not want to rebel against God, and vex His Holy Spirit, because he will turn against me and become my enemy.
Isa_63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
The rise and fall of KINGDOMS, took place because folks did not expect Him, to turn and become their enemy.
I want to be on HIS SIDE in this great controversy between good and evil.
Bless You and may His face ALWAYS SHINE UPON YOU!
